We’re delighted to reveal that six leading financial services providers have already signed up to support the 2019 Headlinemoney Awards.
Direct Line is repeating its support from this year for both the Consumer and B2B categories of the General Insurance Journalist of the Year award. This year, it was Insurance Post’s Martin Croucher who scooped the honours in the B2B section, while freelance journalist Louise Eccles landed the Consumer category for her work on the Daily Mail.
Social trading platform eToro has committed to support the Freelance Journalist of the Year category. In 2018, this prestigious title was awarded to Felicity Hannah.
New Headlinemoney subscriber Guardian Financial Services has thrown its support behind the Outstanding Achievement Award, which is bestowed on an individual whose work has had a significant, long-lasting and beneficial effect within the sphere of the financial services media. The 2018 winner was Geoff Ho from the Sunday Express who received a standing ovation from the packed room on the night.
LifeSearch is continuing its support for the Consumer Champion of the Year category, which is awarded to the journalist whose print/online column or broadcasts best tackled consumers' money problems, complaints and gripes. In 2018, freelancer Jill Insley made it back-to-back victories in this category for her Question of Money column in The Sunday Times.
Meanwhile, longstanding Headlinemoney Awards supporter, Scottish Widows is sponsoring both the B2B and Consumer categories in the Pensions Journalist of the Year award. In 2018, New Model Adviser’s Jack Gilbert saw off fierce competition to win the B2B section, while Josephine Cumbo of the Financial Times lifted the Consumer trophy.
Last, but certainly not least, new Headlinemoney supporter Yolt has snapped up the Rising Star of the Year (Consumer) category, which is awarded to the best new journalist under 30 covering consumer money issues. This year the award was won by Which? Money’s Faye Lipson.
