Rising Star of the Year (B2B)
Citywire New Model Advisor's Nicola Blackburn collects her trophy from Sophie Placido, Director of Growth and Strategy at Rostrum and awards host Ayesha Hazarika MBE
WINNER :
Nicola Blackburn, Citywire New Model Adviser
This category, open to journalists who started working in B2B financial journalism after January 2020, is often a steppingstone in the money media. The very impressive shortlist sparked plenty of debate amongst the judging panel this year, with two entries neck and neck for much of the discussion. It was Citywire New Model Adviser’s Nicola Blackburn who won through in the end.
“Great exclusives on the stories of the day with exceptional analysis and use of data," observed one judge. “Nicola’s style copes well with some data-heavy topics and readers are left well-informed by her stories,” commented another.
Highly Commended:
Krystle Higgins, Citywire Selector
Recognition should also go to Citywire Selector’s Krystle Higgins. “An excellent range of articles, all on topical and controversial issues,” commented one judge. “Krystle has an engaging writing style combined with well-structured narratives,” said another.
